“LeAnn Rimes Captivates Joe’s Bar”

It’s hard to say what was on the minds of concert goers Tuesday evening, September 30th at Joe’s Bar in Chicago; The White Sox game or country music superstar LeAnn Rimes highly-anticipated concert appearance.

The likes of the packed house proved that the avid country music fans came to hear… THE MUSIC! The invitation only event was presented by Chicago’s country station US*99.5 and the Blue Chip Casino. The “Live Country” events bring in some of the biggest and brightest stars to the popular Chicago hotspot!

Taking the stage promptly at 8pm sharp, LeAnn wore a white short sleeved lacy top with a pair of slim-fitting jeans and silver boots. Looking sensational, she opened the show with a rockin’ performance of her hit single, “Nothin’ Better To Do.” It was a great way to kick off the show, and the audience agreed by greeting LeAnn with roaring applause.

Following LeAnn’s electrifying opener, she rolled into mega-hits “Can’t Fight The Moonlight,” and “Something’s Gotta Give” offering the audience the opportunity to sing-along with her on the well-loved tunes.

LeAnn made a point of thanking US*99 and Joe’s Bar for having her in town to perform. Her original concert was scheduled a few months prior, but vocal ailments forced her to cancel. After witnessing the vocal powerhouse at her best, it was hard to imagine any change in her impressive vocal range throughout her 60-minute engaging concert.

In good humor, LeAnn graciously thanked her fans for attending her show rather than watching the White Sox game in the main room of the bar.

Sitting on a stool with her hair pulled back, LeAnn treated her fans to a slew of tunes from her latest studio album, “Family,” as well as earlier hits such as “Blue,” “How Do I Live,” and “Commitment.”

Rallying up the ladies in the audience, LeAnn called upon every woman as she dedicated the up-tempo tune, “Good Friend And A Glass Of Wine.” The songs carefree message successfully connected with the women as they cheered along.

Slowing things down a bit, LeAnn floored the audience with her emotion packed performances of the touching ballads, “What I Cannot Change,” and “Probably Wouldn’t Be This Way.” There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. “What I Cannot Change” has a powerful message, and there’s also a website dedicated to the song called, http://www.leannrimesworld.com/wicc/  (The song is also LeAnn’s NEW single. REQUEST, REQUEST, REQUEST at your local radio stations!)

In between songs, LeAnn made sure to update the audience with the latest score of the baseball game. It created an exciting evening for both music lovers, and sports fanatics!

LeAnn entertained the crowd with her sweet charm and remarkable stage presence. She made a point of acknowledging each and every fan in front of the stage by shaking their hands, and signing their memorabilia.

Interestingly enough, one fan requested LeAnn to autograph a box of Kellogg’s “Corn Flakes” which she currently graces the cover of. She gladly fulfilled their wish by signing the box and returned it with a smile.

LeAnn closed out the show by showing her love and appreciation for the legendary Janis Joplin, by performing an outstanding rendition of “Summertime.” The bluesy performance earned LeAnn a standing ovation!

She thanked the crowd once more, signed a few autographs, took a bow, and left the stage at 9pm. (Oh and for you sports junkies…. the White Sox won, and they are on their way to the playoffs! GO SOX GO!)
