CHICAGO, IL (September 3rd, 2010) – Country music legend, singer/songwriter and Grand Ole Opry star Connie Smith with special guest Robbie Fulks will make an appearance on Sunday September 26th, 2010 in concert at the Old Town School of Folk Music on 909 W. Armitage Avenue in Chicago, IL.
"The Sweetheart of the Grand Ole Opry," Connie Smith, is considered to be one of the greatest singers in country music. Although she never achieved the level of commercial success as some of her contemporaries like Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Lynn Anderson and Dolly Parton, she is often hailed by music critics as one of the finest voices in country music, voted in 2001 by fellow artists and members of the Country Music industry as #9 of the 40 Greatest Women of Country Music of all time. None other than Dolly Parton herself praised Smith by once saying, "There's only three real female singers; Barbara Streisand, Linda Ronstadt and Connie Smith. The rest of us are only pretending."
Tickets are ONLY $28.00 and may be purchased either online: http://oldtownschool.tix.com/Event.asp?Event=286609 or via telephone 773.728.6000.
